I am a self-taught portrait, travel & urban photographer based out of Paris. I was born in the suburbs of Paris in 1983. I became serious in photography in 2010 when I purchased my first reflex camera, a Canon EOS 550D. Since 2014, I’ve shot with a Canon 6D using EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM & EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lenses.
But my passion for these art forms goes back a while. Indeed, my father took pictures of our close family and our travels using film cameras. All these precious moments of life have been collected in photo albums that I love to look at with great nostalgia. For me, stopping the unstoppable nature of time is the essence of photography.
In terms of my style of photography, I do love urban architecture both ancient & modern. Anywhere I go, I will always explore metro and train networks. I mostly focus on perspective and symmetry to create aesthetic compositions.
I also do urbex (urban exploration) to explore and photograph abandoned places around the world. I like to visualise the historical scenes that may of occurred, imagining moments from the past whilst comparing the ‘moody’ contemporary atmosphere enhanced by the decay of reality, adding compositional value.
During my travels, I really love to capture street life to reveal the richness and cultural diversity of our planet earth. I have a special affection for portraits, which for me is the best way to reveal the beauty of emotions through the expression of each unique human face.
Finally, I’m engaged with the laterally creative possibilities of macro photography, including playing with the perception of an object or living thing when the scale is totally changed. Welcome to my reality!
